Katie Barrios

Meet Middleton WI Police Officer Katie Barrios and her family, including Husband Joe (decorated Iraq war veteran and Philadelphia, PA Police Officer), and children Cole (19), Samantha (15), Joey (5), and Abigail (4). Like so many, Katie’s family is her world.

Katie was getting ready for work on the evening of January 8th, when she collapsed. Katie ultimately found herself at the University of Wisconsin – Madison hospital where she learned she had a large mass on her brain. Katie endured eight hours of brain surgery the following day, and was diagnosed with Stage IV Glioblastoma – a very aggressive, malignant brain tumor. Shortly after a second tumor was also removed. Katie will begin treatment on March 13, 2017, including radiation followed by Chemotherapy.
Katie has only been with the City of Middleton Police Department for five months. Before becoming a Police Officer in Middleton WI, Katie spent 9 years with the Warminster Township Police Department, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She recently returned to WI to be closer to her family. Katie is not eligible for a pension.

Katie has been told by her doctors that Grade IV Glioblastoma is a terminal illness and untreated she has six months to live, with treatment one year. Katie is not accepting this and has stated that she will overcome this obstacle. We would like to provide for her family as much as we can, please, any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.

DONATIONS may be made in person at any Police and Fire Federal Credit Union using the Warminster Police Benevolent Association, Inc. account and her name.

Please MAIL all donations to the Warminster Police Benevolent Association, Inc. P.O. Box 2331 Warminster, PA 18974. Checks must be payable to the Warminster Police Benevolent Association, Inc. with the memo line – Katie Barrios. All donations received will be dispersed directly to Katie Barrios and her family.
Thank you,
